Long awaited and already outdated!
I got a little overworked working on my part of the script; worrying about getting it just right. But Shim finally cajolled me into just recording. I figured I’d better just to shut him up. It actually turned out pretty well, winging it a lot like Shrav and I used to with special guest, Erin.
Like in the previous episode were struggles. I was very nasally and breathy through large parts of it as I was still fighting off a bad head cold. There is hiss from Shim’s end, but I still overpower him with outrageous ssssssssssssssibalence at times. Erin seems a bit shy at first but really gets going later. We’ll get this podcasting thing down yet. But in the meantime you all can make fun of us as we continue to learn.

Listening was a nice change of pace since I took a break from maple. I did manage to sell quite a few of my equips to RL friends and on Ebay. I racked in over 350$, and still have a couple decent equips left. Maybe I can use some of that to refund a nooby char once I start back up again =)

*sniff* my school’s program is too cheap. most of the teacher doesnt know how to use the grading computer. last year, a teacher’s program took 99.99% as an A and 100% as an A+… well thankfully i have a math teacher who counts 89.5 as an A-, 79.5 for B- (shes also a computer nerd). and well, every other teacher counts 89.99% as a B+ (trust me, ive gotten 89.xx% MANY MANY times on a midterm report card and the stupid teacher never rounded it up

Hey guys, I’ve ben working with mario paint composer recently, I’m probably gonna upload a video to youtube at some point, I have the first about;…30 seconds of Suteki Da Ne done so far. I might just upload that and say “Should I do mario paint from now on?” Suteki da ne is a really really long song, and I don’t know if I should go any further, but I might. for those who don’t know the song, Suteki Da Ne is the song that played during the incredible FMV Scene from Final Fantasy 10, when they were camping out in the forest.

I have since quit Notations (NL) at 138. I quit him at the beginning of may, and took a month long break from maple. Started up a brawler in Yellonde a couple days ago, currently he’s 67, 70 later 2night. I guess you could try to match my BM (156) but he’s pretty fail, and stripped. When I say pretty fail, I mean REALLY freaking fail. Completely unwashed, high str, bad skill allocation, etc. 1st Gen characters can be pretty messed up 🙂

it took me almost 3 years(3 year anniversary in like october :o) to get a character to 70, even though I got him when he was 40, hes a sin, and my 1st gen character(RIP Bustamaru+Wirblewind) was almost 40 when it got perma’d(long story) so it kinda counts. Shim has gone over 3 years without going 3rd(close! get yer butt into gear!), but he is a busy guy.

as much as it seems like a bad idea, u might wanna consider maxing out teleport while NOT maxing out holy arrow. it will save pots (money) and u will travel farther which saves time. holy arrow isnt that strong, just make sure u have 1 onyx apple while doing the third job boss or something, ur third job move will make u like, “i didnt need holy arrow wtf -_-…” other than that, since u have max heal, u train up with another character at zombies or something. or at lvl 40’s clerics are all the rage at regular lpq. what i did for those lvls? went to the last map in the orbis cloud parks, they are undead i believe and they can mob easily, besides the fact that its a vertical match that can make u fall, its nice. once u reach ur 51’s go to lmpq till around 60’s and do mp3. or u could go earlier, they are also undead. then 60-65ish go to voodoo hoodoo, also undead keeps spawning. u should train there till 70, but if u have a high lvl warrior friend, u might wanna try windraiders, not undead but when u heal warrior, and they pwn, its a good idea. there thats my cleric guide. ahahaha not. thats how i trained, but it would help u better and be faster for u cuz u have heal. i recommend looking up an up to date guide
THIS IS CRAZY!@!@!@!@ the only way to make maplestory work is to make my modem firewall equal to “none” description: there is no firewall, your computer is at highest risk. last time i left it at this, i got a virus… and in order to play, i MUST do this…-_-

You can go in and specifically allow all Maple related programs. I had this problem back in September, but my firewall is still on High.
yea but it’s specifically with the built in firewall with my modem, router w.e. my Windows Firewall can be off, my AVG can be off but even if my modem’s firewall is on low, maple (and related game with the loader thing) won’t be let through.
well now that maple works, im going to make a new character, dragon knight seems more fun! just- lets see- 55 more lvls and like 1 year till i get there -_-

Well…you can trade a zhelm with scissors, Nexon is making a TON off of those. In all reality though, most Zhelms sold cost a great deal more than what you would pay for a run, and you have to buy a CS item. It’s probably only really usefull for people that can’t stay connected at zakum, or want to buy a really well scrolled helm.
HT pendant on the other hand….very helpful. Just getting into HT and surviving is a massive challenge, and those stats really help mages and str dits. I think I might buy one on my NL just for GPQ (im low dex, so i can’t equip my claw when I switch earrings)
arent scisors like only 3k nx though? the thing that gets me is that- you can “purchase” a lvl 30 character. i swear, in 5 years nexon will have so many lvl 200s they will sell lvl 200 characters for like 100k nx. and who wouldnt want THAT?
i spent 3 days and went from lvl 1-24 (i intend to try to get to 28ish today). i love the watermelon quest which gives 10k exp. like 50% at my lvl
a long time ago it took 2-3 months for me to get from lvls 1-25
I once used to joke about nexon selling 50+ characters, giving stackable 2x cards, and making boss mini dungeons. Now I look at maple, and they have basically started giving us these things.
They already sell lvl 30 characters, I wouldn’t put it past them to push it farther.
We have 2x that can be stacked almost constantly now with Rep. Not the same as buying 2 2x cards for 4x, but pretty close.
We kinda did get boss mini dungeons. That new boss PQ has some pretty godly exp bosses toward the end (NL can solo pap in about 15 minutes, and on 2x exp, that’s about as good as a normal Anego kill.) If it wasn’t for the lower lvl bosses before hand, This PQ would pretty much BE a boss mini dungeon.

Maple has changed way to much and its way to easy to get alot of things now. except that you need a lvl 30+ to get that lvl 30 char.(still pisses me off)
Also, 1-25 doesn’t take THAT long, I’ve gotten 1-27 in 3 days on a mage before(no watermelon quests), and I know it takes alot longer on a warrior, but Ive gotten to 30 in less than a week on my page, granted I had a 5x att 7 str lvl 15 hammer and was doing up to 1k by lvl 25.

i was gonna sell my karma’ed zhelm for 40 mil (0 slots 3 scrolls for def) on basil… and guess what? i got 80 mil, i cant believe they wanted it, a clean is sooo much better. but what gets me is- once i got the money, i lost 4 mil from tax. since its on sirwilliam i send it to solara through duey, another 4 mil blown up. to rich ppl thats not a lot, but 8 mil- is A LOT. considering its 80% of the money when ur doing the shortcut for 4th job adv (gawd, 2nd job was harder than 4th job. u only need 10 mil for 4th job adv and by then u will have AT LEAST 20 mil)
Well, if we get the Mu Lung Dojo, we’ve pretty much got a souped-up version of the Agent thing we have now.
But I don’t think it will matter now, NLs finally have some decent training spots (although the other ranged classes are still left in the dust).
Maxed Ven. at several TT mobs is almost as fast as Anegoing on 1x exp.
Still, Ams and Bishops have it easiest, although it looks like it’s drifting away from that a bit.
Hopefully I can try out Bucc. soon, just 16 lvls to go =)
btw, i’m posting as Tesi now, it’s the name i use in all of the forums. Just easier to stay consistent.

Mu Lung Dojo is actually worse, you cant use pots and you have to use the CPQ styled pots, which means no apples for most of it, it just has better prizes and its permanent.

With a higher lvl Lukless, and maxed endure, I think most NLs can at least get through it pretty easily. I’ve been playing it on Pservers a bit (yea, bleh, it’s just to test out different builds/training methods)

with the preparation of knights of cygnus, comes good and bad things
bad: maple island will be flooded JUST like pirate time. lower lvl pq will be packed. lower lvl maps will be packed.
good: higher lvl pq OPEN. higher lvl maps OPEN
so i will make knights of cygnus after 1-2 months it comes out. it looks so cool, but apparently u need to be lvl 20 to get advancement then u go to lvl 1 and have to go back up… i think we should all prepare for koc by making lvl 10 beginners early
I don’t think you go back to lvl 1 after getting to lvl 20. I think it means you just have to have a lvl 20 character before making a KoC
Also, I’ll be rushing one to 120 so I can get that boost to the main character. +12 att stackable for free? Just for lvling a souped up char?

Were probably(im like 80% sure) getting KoC next patch, along with Ereb, the KoC intro vid(i think) and other stuff.
KoC is either gonna go the KMS way, start your char on the creation screen with extra slot.
Or the Sea way, which is having a lvl 20 be the “parent” char and going to talk to Nineheart in Ereb.
All Cygnus chars basically look the same at first just so everyone knows
Also, theres this pretty cool sprite bonus thing which gives an attack bonus that depends on the lvls of the characters on the account.
Also, each classes name stays the same throughout all the advances, the only thing that changes is the color of your title under your name
And thats all I know about KoC that most people who dont look it up wont know.

Do you guys realize that KoC requires making an entirely new character? This isnt like when pirates were realeased, KoC is a new race. The only preparation you can do is getting your equips and stuff ready for moving.

Man, The site i posted says that you need to have a lvl 20+ character on the account you plan to make a cygnus knight on, not that you need to get to lvl 20, delevel to 1, and work your way back, that would be the stupidest thing ever.

So I was talking to one of my friends that plays SEA, and he says the KoC will get a boost from the other character on the account, and the KoC will give a boost to the other character.

there is a quest from maplestory where you can get 3 KoC books. they have like all the basic info of cygnus. apparently (which is why i quit the new beginner i made), it says, in the book, a knights of cygnus character must be newly created. that means
1) it has to be a beginner
or
2) it must be created newly when KoC comes out.

Theres no option #1 SW, it says it right there, “a Cygnus Knight character must be newly created”. In KMS, they have the option to start off as Cygnus right away, without doing all that parent character stuff

I think it means that you get to level 20, then you start a new character that is level one, but your other character stays the same level.
RAWR, Portal almost got it right. KoC in terms of MapleSEA is kinda like the Maple Life card thing, you have to have a char on the server you wanna make the new character on at a specific level, in KoCs case, 20, to be able to do it. Got it memorized? If I have to explain this one more time I just might explode.
In other words, Im expecting them to set the patch date around July 28, based on Nexons online KoC events and theyre usual patching days (Tuesday/Wensday i think).

KoC for GMS will be the level 20 parent character way, giving your parent character an attack boost for how high of a level he is (I’m not exactly sure how it works, but if you have a level 150 NL, you’d get a better atk boost than a 20 warrior.)

I meant not that you go to the character creation screen via the character select screen (i like the word “via”, lol) to make it, but that you talk to an NPC and the custiomization screen pops up in-game.

ok guys! this has probably been out for a while, but i will tell you the REAL way of getting KoC on gms
1) log on with a lvl 20+ character
2) accept invitation from Tactician Neinheart
3) after landing on ereve island talk to Shinsoo and accept his message
4) decide knight character’s name and features and click ok
5) your KoC character has been made and can be found at the log in screen
6) you get extra slots if needed (up to 12????? woooow)
7) game will pick up from ereve where you will again meet Shinsoo and Cygnus. Talk o empress
8) talk to neinheart to activate his quest you then have to be lvl 10 to be a knight character
9) at lvl 10 you can read about ur character and choose it
10) knight characters have a cash shop slots for knight characters in the same world

I refuse to jump on the Cygnus bandwagon… The only thing that they’re really any good for IMOis the attack boost. And I wouldn’t be surprised if they went the KMS route and nerfed the “Parent Character” thing.
FYI, for those of you that wonder why Cygnus characters can’t EPQ, it’s for a reason that’s related to the storyline. I’ll probably submit a feature for it if I’m not lazy. 😀

Most serious maplers only create the Cygnus for the +12 att boost anyway, no one is taking them as actual characters.
I wouldn’t call it a ‘bandwagon’ as it has a very practical use for your main. The early weeks of pirate, yes, that was a prime example of ‘bandwagoning’, but these don’t seem to be.
You might as well just make a 30 or so character for the attack/acc/avoid/matt boost. It doesn’t even take up a character slot (yay go nexon on that one 🙂 ).

Anyway, turns out that KoC are also missing a bunch of quests so good luck getting the Quest Specialist Medal on that character, along with KoCs clogging up all the PQs except MPQ because MPQ is hacker heaven right now.
I would explain the hack but I think that’s against the rules. =)

happy thanksgiving + happy black friday (4 hours ago). well, there is a best buy, walmart, target, kohls, and toys r us 5 mins away. i decided not to go. my dad said he would buy me a new itouch for christmas anyway so i decided not to get trampled and die today.

i got my christmas gift early, i bought a new ipod touch. im so happy cuz my old itouch has loose headjacks so when i plug in headphones the left never works. and with every new ipod comes with headphones that are worth 30 bucks to apple. i hate em their so crappy. and guess what? the good headphones sold by apple are $100. they have awesome stuff but its waaaay too overpriced
i gave my mom, dad, and grandparents $100 so i lost $300… i had an even 1k but now im down to 700 =(. oh well, ima try to get like $2000 so i can get a high end 15 inch mac book pro
So i found out alot; Arans are just super over powered but super hard to lvl and train polearm people. I sent an E-mail to the radio. Evans are basically like Dragon Riders from the book series “Eragon” except erans don’t use any archery, melee, or have mental powers. They are basically puppet users but the puppet is a dragon……so yeah. Hope they get my full report on 2 of the 5 soon to be added classes to the Maplestory world that our dictator type company, Nexon, has taken over.

you relize you can UPDATE your graphics card, or buy only a NEW ONE, graphics card become worthless after about a year. so you need a new one every year, thats only 20 when your 20 if you buy one when your one years old.
update your graphics card: (vista)
1. press start
2. right click on computer and click properties
3. click device manager on the left
4. click display adapters
5. right click update driver software.
6. you can now play low grapics fallout 3 on a 1 year old graphics card.

the podcast is actually split into three separate episodes, section A and B have already been completed (not the episode, the script) so if you submit it now it might get into the third installment

Medals are the maple version of acheivements. Except maple has actually taken a step forward. You get to have stat boosts with the medals. Only thing that is stupid is that some are impossible/NX required. such as Pink bean one or the change ur hair 40 times

and dynamic hair which is 50 isnt bad, buy an 11k membership coupon and its unlimited changes for 90 days

I’m gonna have to say that the pink bean thing is You have to KILL pink bean to get the medal. thats why in every world, no one has it. Dynamic hair you need NX (i will never be able to get it) and for outstanding citizen, even if i trained my snail to the breaking point it would be impossible. It has only 5hours which won’t get it that far. i’ve been trying to do the one where you have to kill undead things and get 1 card each…yeah thats taken about 4 days of nonstop killing and i got a blue dana so far and yet no monster card.
I already have the 3rd undead medal
and pink bean is just getting the white text, you dont need to do majority damage but ya no one has it yet

yes well if any of u have noticed the only thing about the website thats alive its here in the coments an well its dieing to the number of listiners im sure has dremdicly (bad spelling) gone down. I dont have a doubt that there will not be an episode in the next couple months. Instead of a adiuo way it be a texted based way for every episode we give the people lets say a 2 weeks to post in the corsponingd subsection per episode could have its subsection for each topic then when the 2 weeks are over some one takes all of the Decent Post in ecah section doesnt mater maby a max ofl ike 3 or so an make like a news letter kind of way of were theres an introduction then just headlines sayiong the sub sections like “nooby tips” an the post an the admins oppinons about it.

Hey guys, it’s Spazzcakes.
Just here to confirm that it’s dead. Not buried alive; dead. We had a great run, ne? A good twenty episodes… countless hours of laughs. But all good things come to an end, it’s inevitable. I myself don’t play maple at all anymore, and I’m pretty sure that Shim does not either. I no longer have contact with either Shim nor Warez.
Technical difficulties on the last attempt to record an episode was the final straw, killing the very little hint of life that there was. Any further attempts o rekindle this podcast would just insult it.

I really only came here to tie up the one loose end I had with the wasted 4 years of my life, and undoubtedly the funnest part of it was being a guest on episode 18. Wow, long time since I’ve been here. It’s been quite a while since I quit, too much in my life and rarely no time with my classes (to all middle schoolers, enjoy it while you can). So it’s official huh? Well I kind of felt it was official a long time ago, but whatever. All I can say is that games (whether it be MapleStory, FarmVille, Runescape, COD, w.e) takes up a lot of time where you could have been doing something else. Studying, giving that extra effort for an A in class. Experiencing the world. Doing new things, making new friends. All of this matters, yet in the end, making it to 4th job, exploring the new maps, finishing a new quest, becoming friends with someone online, means absolutely nothing. If possible, I wish I could go back and never have done so.
